Statterbox · privacy policy · updated August 8, 2026
Your kid's data belongs to your family.
Statterbox records wrist-motion data from an Apple Watch during sports practice and turns it into coaching feedback. This page says exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we will never do. Plain language on purpose. The reader is a parent.
What we collect
Motion data. When a recording session is started, the watch captures motion-sensor readings (rotation, acceleration, orientation) from the wrist it is worn on, plus heart rate from the watch's own sensors during the session and the session's start time and duration.
Athlete profile. A first name or nickname, the sport being recorded, throwing/batting handedness, and which family the athlete belongs to. We do not ask for a birthdate, school, address, or photo.
Account basics. A parent email address for sign-in, and the questions typed into the report chat (kept so we can improve the answers).
What we do with it
Motion data is uploaded to our servers, scored into rep-by-rep mechanics readings, and shown back to your family as the athlete's report: their own history, personal bests, and coaching suggestions. That is the entire use. Nothing else.
Every reading compares the athlete to their own past sessions only. We never grade a kid against other kids, and there are no public leaderboards.
What we never do
We do not sell or rent any data, ever, to anyone.
We do not show ads, and we do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
We do not track location. The app does not request GPS access.
We do not make injury or health claims from motion data, and we do not diagnose anything.
We do not charge for an athlete's own numbers. If a paid membership ever lapses, the athlete's own data remains viewable. The paid layer is coaching. It is never the kid's own history.
Kids
Statterbox is set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Accounts belong to the parent. Athletes are profiles inside them. We collect the minimum an athletic report needs (first name, sport, handedness, motion data) and nothing designed to identify a child outside the family's own pages. Nothing is public.
Where data lives and how long
Data is stored with our cloud database provider (Supabase) in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Raw sensor recordings are kept so that improved analysis can re-score past sessions. That history is a core feature, not an accident. Delete requests remove the family's data from live systems within 30 days and from backups on the backup rotation schedule.
